She

 She

She kisses him goodbye with a smile on her lips
And every woman watching knows
She's feeling their pain but the smile's just for him
To take with him wherever he goes
She's got to be strong and hold it together
She can't let him down while he's gone
She'll cry in the night but when the sun's shining
She'll just keep life moving along

She'll hold their son in her arms tonight
And hope that she can explain
Daddy had to leave for a 6 month cruise
But he'll be coming home again
She's a survivor and she'll keep on living
The way the Navy taught her to do
But every few days she'll take a walk by the ocean
And know he's out there missing them too

She holds on to the knowledge that there'll come a day
She'll hang a sign to welcome him home
She'll stand on the pier with their son in her arms
And know that she was never alone
He was with her in spirit, in heart and in soul
It only seemed like they were apart
She'll kiss him hello and the smile on her lips
Will reach all the way to her heart.
