A Sailor's Love

 A Sailor's Love

A sailor's love, the hardest thing for me to be.
Watching him wave good-bye as he sets out to sea.

Silently my heart breaking, I must not let him see me cry.
It is hard for the both us, but we must say good-bye.

I smile and wave good-bye as I stand alone on the pier.
The last words he said to me still ringing in my ear.

A piece of my heart he has taken with him to sea,
Only to return when he finally comes home to me.

For the love of a sailor, an eternity I must wait,
Loneliness so intense I can feel my heart break.

When that glorious day comes, we are reunited once more,
It is this moment I realize this sailor's love is worth waiting for.
