I WILL SURVIVE

 I WILL SURVIVE

THIS SEPARATION FROM YOU IS SO DIFFICULT TO ENDURE.
I AWAIT YOUR RETURN SO THAT YOU CAN ENSURE.
ENSURE THAT YOU CARE FOR ME AS MUCH AS YOU SAY.
I AWAIT YOUR RETURN ON THAT FAITHFUL DAY.
YOUR JOB HAS TAKEN YOU TO ANOTHER PLACE.
A PLACE FAR AWAY HAS HIDDEN YOUR FACE.
THAT FOREIGN LAND IS WHERE YOU RESIDE.
A PLACE FAR AWAY FAR FROM MY SIDE.
OUR BED IS SO EMPTY AT THE END OF THE DAY.
I CAN'T BARE TO SLEEP THERE WHILE YOU'RE AWAY.
I CLOSE MY EYES TO FALL ASLEEP ON THE COUCH.
BUT I CAN'T SLEEP WHILE I THINK OF YOU SO MUCH.
THE HOUSE HAS AN ECHO SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE.
SOMETHING'S GONE SO TERRIBLY WRONG.
I CAN FEEL THE TEARS THAT ARE ABOUT TO FALL.
IF ONLY YOU'D PICK UP A PHONE AND CALL.
TO HEAR YOUR VOICE WOULD SOOTH MY SOUL.
FOR WHEN YOU ARE GONE MY WORLD SEEMS SO COLD.
MY HEART HAS PAIN THAT IS HARD TO WITHSTAND.
PARTS OF ME THAT MISS YOU MOST, MY LIPS AND MY HANDS.
MY HANDS HAVE NOTHING TO HOLD NOR NOTHING TO FEEL.
YOU BEING ABSENT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING UNREAL.
MY LIPS MISS YOURS MORE THAN I THOUGHT THEY COULD.
I SOMETIMES THINK I MISS YOU MORE THAN I SHOULD.
I'M COUNTING THE MONTHS, WEEKS, AND DAYS.
TILL THE WAVES OF THE OCEAN STEER YOUR SHIP MY WAY.
WE CAN RESUME THE CONVERSATIONS WE HAD ABOUT LIVES.
SO TILL THAT LONG AWAITED DAY, I WILL SURVIVE.
