A Newlywed's Story

Okie, so I'm not much of a writer. I've been reading the stories and poems
with tears in my eyes and just had to contribute. It's okie if you don't
post it. I just really need to get it out.

A Newlywed's Story
I was a party girl, never interested in a serious relationship...until I
met him. I remember the first time I saw him. He got out of his green S-10
and was the most attractive guy I had ever seen. I managed to get his
number and gave him mine, thinking that I would never hear from him again.
Surprisingly, he called me. Our first date lasted over 24 hours! It was
then that I knew in my heart that he was the One. Then he broke the news to
me. He was a Marine, and stationed 9 hours away. He was just home on a 96
for Memorial. My heart broke, but I knew I could handle a long distance
We dated exclusively for 3 months before our wedding in August. It was at a
District Justice office, but to me it was the most perfect thing because he
was there with me. Exactly one month later, Sept. 20, 1999 he left for his
6 month deployment.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. He's everything
to me. I never thought I could handle being a military wife or not having
my husband around for 6 months right after getting married. But I realize
now that I am strong and our love will not fade away as our time apart
He will be home March 17, 2000. I'm counting the days. I can't wait to be
reunited with my husband, my soulmate. Sometimes he gets angry at himself
for putting me through this. But I'm not angry. I miss him very much, but I
know this is what he has to do. No matter what, I will stand by him.
LCpl Rowcotsky, I love you and can't wait for you to come home! I'm also
very proud to be your wife.
