Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal

Description:

1. Established by the Secretary of the Navy, June 22, 1964.
2. Awarded on a selective basis to U.S. Navy Reservists who, during any three consecutive years subsequent to July 1, 1958, fulfill with distinction the obligations of inactive Reservists.
3. A 3/16"  bronze star is worn on the suspension and service ribbon of the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal to denote subsequent awards. 
4. On or after 1 January 2014, Navy Reserve personnel became eligible for the Navy Good Conduct Medal when the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal was discontinued.
